About

I’m Kimberly Jennery – and I have a knack for raising super-sweet kittens, and (usually!) rehoming them. I tend to take a lot of photos of them, and I wanted a place to share them on the web.

I’m also a science, computer, cooking, foodie, naturalist, education geek.

    Hi Kimberly!

I am the friend that found the newborn kittens in Oakland. Im so glad they are doing so well. I will be checking for updates often. I would love to see how they grow up and see them go to loving homes. I can keep you posted on how the other two babies are doing also. I know they both went to loving and experienced homes and are doing great. I would have preferred that they would have stayed together. I myself couldn’t keep them myself for many reasons. I am happy they are doing so well and look forward to the updates.

    Thanks so much,

    Kacie

I’ve been favoriting your videos on Youtube for quite some time now, but only now found your website, and I am delighted! I love being able to look at all the cute little babies, and find out what happened to them!

I’m currently getting my home ready for a cat that I am getting from my parents, but once she’s settled in, I’d like to adopt another one, preferably a young kitten. I live in the Puget Sound area, and am desperately hoping that you live in the area, or close to it. I’ve bought from breeders before, and haven’t had any really positive experiences. My parents bought four of our cats, all Maine Coones, from one breeder, and it took us a long time to turn them into friendly cuddle-bugs, which was tough to see. They had been kept in kennels prior to us getting them, and weren’t used to human affection. I love that your approach to rearing is so full of love and attention!

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi Kimberly ~

I have to tell you how happy I am to have come across your website and specifically your kitten milk recipe. I’ve been fostering four kittens for over a week now – they are approx. 3 weeks old at this point – and since this is my first time doing so I was in need of some good advice and information.
I had been feeding them GNC formula from a can (powdered) and it was making them (and their pee) smell like rotten fish. HORRIBLE! Three days ago I mixed up your milk recipe and they’ve been gobbling it up since…and the smell is GONE. Hallelujah! Thanks so much for sharing it – we all thank you!

Oh, I’m so glad! Isn’t it great? It’s seriously made SUCH a huge difference for my foster kittens! Do you have any pictures posted of your bitties?

  4. Renae says:

These babies really seem to love it and *I* love that it’s so natural…and of course the lack of dead fish smell is a gigantic bonus, too! 😉

    Hi Kimberly,

I follow you via LJ and this site. I enjoy reading your entries, looking at your pictures, and watching your videos :-D.

Is “Bitten by a Kitten Rescue” the name of your non-profit? If so, how did you come up with that name?

    • Kimberly says:

      No, that’s my friend Anje’s rescue group/name :) I don’t (yet) have a non-profit, although I want to set that up.

what a bunch of sweeties! have fostered many over the years, absolutely nothing like a kitten.
    keep up your wonderful work.

I’m very glad to have found your site! We foster a lot for the local shelter, but we’ve been considering venturing out on our own just because of all the political stuff that happens there. What happened that made you decide to go it on your own?

    • Kimberly says:

Pretty much what you just said 😉 Even the good ones made me crazy sometimes with their policies, etc. Especially during the adoption process. Also, I started getting kittens without going through them, and I am lucky enough to not be dependent on the rescue organizations for funding. Good luck to you, and keep in touch!

We adopted a 6-month old barn cat whose first act was to scratch my daughter who had fallen in love with her. It took us a long time to get Maisie CatRina to the point where she was not likely to claw and bite anyone who fed or tried to groom her.

Do you have a section on this website or elsewhere where you give methods for sweetening kittens and older kitties? MCat has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, no doubt terrorizing all the birds and rodents who wait there for their owners, but it would be good to know the techniques for when other feisty critters come our way.

Hi, Kimberly! I haven’t seen updates for a while, and I hope all is well.

I appreciate all the information you’ve shared on your site. I have rescued some wee kittens myself, and I am truly grateful for the compassion and love you embody.

    Hi Kimberly,

I came across your blog through LJ and wanted to ask where you are located. Your stories have touched me and my husband and we just got genuinely curious where you work out of. :) I look forward to hearing and seeing more about your fosterlings!
